Near misses and then some

a lot of the time you are asked to do a board to help a studio that is bidding on a job.....and it seems that most of the time these jobs get lost along the way...either the client goes in a different direction or with a different studio. either way it's still a fun exersize. the following board was done for artifact design for a pitch idea for a president's day event for some ford dealers in the washington, dc area.

there are other times when you get to spend a little more time and get to do presentation boards...the following panels were done for a Wii promotion through TBS....sorry i don't have the final boards...just the panels.

more boards

the following boards are from the TBS productions spot...it was a live action motion control piece with cg elements added afterwords.

these next boards were also done for a live action spot...this time for McDonalds and Cartoon Network.....

the following board was done for Cartoon Network, an endpage for "Evil Con Carne"....i came up with three gags and boarded them out, then CN picked this one which i then animated.

and here is the final spot.....

storyboards have a place too!

here is the first of many storyboards i hope to post here.....

these are the boards i did for a bump for cartoon network UK, which was a lot of fun, since they were basically giving us complete creative freedom on these. working off a single idea, i first developed this using the camp lazlo characters, but then found out that they don't air that show over there, so i was able to design and use my own characters....which was great.
the client's only request was that it have an old warner brothers feel to it, which i hope i captured. after finishing the boards i got to animate the spot as well. the whole job went really smoothly....with the only change being in scene 1....they kept asking for the diving board to be lower to the ground...making all the gags during the dive seem even more implausible.
